CME milk futures, cash dairy down except cheese Wednesday

Milk futures and cash dairy prices were down except for cheese Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

January Class III milk was unchanged at $18.73.  February was down $0.29 at $18.23.  March was down $0.21 at $18.53.  April was down $0.24 at $18.96.  May through November contracts ranged from unchanged in October and November to twenty-four cents lower in May.

Dry whey was down $0.0075 to $0.3650.  Four sales were recorded from $0.3650 to $0.3675.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0275 at $2.0275.  One sale was recorded at $2.02.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0450 at $1.70.  Two sales were recorded at that price.

Butter had it’s third straight day with a large price drop, falling $0.1250 to $2.4750.  One sale was recorded at $2.4750.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0250 at $1.3350.  Two sales were recorded at $1.3350 and $1.34.
