CME milk futures and cash dairy up again Wednesday

Milk futures were up for a second straight day and most cash dairy prices followed suit on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Wednesday.

July Class III milk was up $0.18 at $22.80.  August closed up $0.17 at $23.33.  September closed up $0.05 at $23.58.  October was up $0.11 at $23.64.  November through June contracts ranged from eight cents higher next June to thirty-two cents higher in May.

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.4825.  Three sales were made at that price.

It’s a rare trading day where the spread between blocks and barrels is gone.  Cheese Blocks were up $0.0525 at $2.1950. One sale was made at that price.

Cheese Barrels were up $0.0350 also closing at $2.1950.  One sale was made at that price.

Butter was up $0.0275 to $2.9950.  Eleven sales were made from $2.9650 to $2.9950.

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0350 at $1.80. Five sales were made from $1.7675 to $1.80.
