CME milk, cash dairy markets see gains Friday

Milk futures were higher in the near term and cash dairy prices were higher Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

March Class III milk was up $0.04 at $17.75.  April was up $0.08 at $17.53.  May was up $0.03 at $17.83.  June was up $0.01 at $18.33.  July through January contracts ranged from four cents lower in July to seventeen cents lower in October.

Dry whey was up $0.01 at $0.4450.  Six sales were recorded from $0.44 to $0.4475.

Cheese blocks were up $0.04 at $1.95.  Two sales were recorded from $1.94 to $1.95.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0450 at $1.5750.  Twenty sales were recorded from $1.5375 to $1.5750.

Butter was unchanged at $2.3450.  No sales were recorded.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0025 at $1.1775.  One sale was recorded at that price.
