CME butter prices plummeted again Tuesday

Milk futures were up in the near term and cash dairy prices were mixed with butter taking another big loss Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

November Class III milk was up $0.12 at $20.59.  December was up $0.10 at $19.10.  January was up $0.01 at $18.82.  February was down $0.06 at $19.20.  March through September contracts ranged from four cents lower in March and May to ten cents lower in April and August. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.44.  Two sales were recorded at $0.44 and $0.4425.

Cheese blocks remained unchanged at $1.96.  No sales were recorded.

Cheese Barrels were up $0.0175 at $1.96.  One sale was recorded at that price.

Butter was sharply down for a second consecutive day, falling $0.2450 to $2.70.  There were no sales recorded, but ten offers and one bid at $2.45.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.03 to $1.3950.  No sales were recorded.
