The next generation of hybrid alfalfa
Back in 2001, Dairyland Seed introduced the first hybrid alfalfa. The company claimed HybriForce 400 would revolutionize alfalfa the same way hybridization revolutionized corn. Specifically, they promised an eight percent yield increase, they underestimated the potential. Tom Strachota with Dairyland says years of on-the-farm comparisons have, “Shown a 15 percent yield advantage compared to competitive products.”
Now the company is introducing the next generation of hybrid alfalfa, Strachota says HybriForce 2400 Gen-2 will add another five percent to that yield advantage.
