Finally–some black ink for cattle feeders

The fed cattle market is finally getting back to profitable levels, the first profits many producers have seen in more than two years.  We discussed the situation with Gregg Doud, chief economist with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, who says a pickup in exports, the effects of rough winter weather, and an improvement in the pork supply and demand situation are among the factors influencing the market.
