Corn emergence study shows the need for uniformity

Matt Hutcheson, a product manager with Ohio-based seed company Seed Consultants, says many farmers focus on spacing when planting corn, but they should be more concerned about emergence.

“Plants that emerge late are runts the entire season and there is a significant yield loss,” he says.
