Fiber Factor Feed utilizes corn stover and other crop residues

A Harlan, Iowa-based company, Iowa Agricultural Bio Fibers (IABF), produces Fiber Factor Feed from corn stover and other crop residues through a proprietary process invented by John Schechinger, president of IABF.

According to company literature, “Fiber Factor is the first and only animal feed product made using a patent-pending proprietary process which shatters the ligno-cellulosic bond in corn stover and similar plant materials to make the nutrients within bio-available to the gut. This process improves the handling, physical characteristics, nutrient profile, moisture holding ability and digestibility of bio-fiber, resulting in a highly palatable feed that delivers the gut health benefits of effective fiber. Fiber Factor can be combined with other feedstuffs, vitamins and minerals to make safe and efficacious products for multiple species. Fiber Factor maintains its soft-pelleted form, making it is easy to transport, store and feed.”

At recent Iowa Cattlemen’s Association meeting in Creston, we discussed the product with John Schechinger.
