The decreasing availability of food in rural areas

A recent report from the USDA pointed out that the percentage of grocery sales from the nation’s top 20 retailers more than doubled from 1990 to 2020, and consolidation has been more prevalent in rural communities. 

To combat the lack of availability, some communities have gotten creative to bring grocery stores back to rural areas.
