Parents of school-age children are adjusting food purchases

Many parents of school-age children are adjusting food purchases to accommodate new schedules, according to a recent survey.

Healthy Living:

The 2022 Food and Health Survey by the International Food Information Council looks into consumers’ perceptions and behaviors around food and food-related purchasing decisions, including findings regarding parents with children under 18.

The top health benefits parents with school-age kids seek from foods, beverages, and nutrients are energy or less fatigue and improved sleep. The survey says nutritional needs and sleep schedules of young children, coupled with work and other family demands, make a clear case for these benefits topping the list.
