Food myths busted in hands-on classes

Some Illinois fourth graders are extracting their own DNA to learn about genetically engineered foods. Victoria Goad, Lawrence County Illinois Farm Bureau Manager, says they have developed an Ag Myth Busters unit for ag in the classroom in two schools.  And that’s where fourth graders learn about organic AND conventionally grown foods AND extract their own DNA to learn about how and why genetically modified foods are developed.
