Jared joined Brownfield in February of 2024. He earned an Associate Degree in Radio & Television Broadcasting from Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, IL in 1999, and has had a presence on the airwaves of Illinois ever since. He was News Director, Morning Show host, and Play-by-Play commentator for WRAN & WIXY in Shelbyville, and later WMKR in Taylorville. In 2002, Jared became the Sports Director, and an on-air host, for a station group in LaSalle-Peru. Five years later, he became the News & Program Director for WHOW & WEZC in Clinton, and in May of 2011 Jared was named the station’s Manager & Farm Broadcaster. His work telling the story of agriculture has earned him several state and national honors over the years. Jared resides in Clinton, Illinois with his wife, Amber, and their seven children – Jaxson, Emma, Briggs, Jack, Lily, Logan, and Wade. He’s an avid angler, and sports fan.
