Behind the Scenes
Meet Brownfield’s newest team member
Greetings! I am Colton Roy, and I am beyond thrilled to join the Brownfield team this summer!
Originally from Gilman City, Missouri, I graduated from Trenton High School in 2022. Throughout high school I took advantage of many different opportunities and was a member of science club, NHS, Spanish club, and spent my senior year out driving balls on the golf course.
Although, I was not born into the industry, my love for agriculture was first sparked through exposure to my stepdad’s diversified row crop farm. And, with a little bit of encouragement and to learn more about agriculture, I decided to join my local FFA Chapter. Needless to say, not once have I regretted my decision. Recently, I ended my one-year term as the Missouri FFA State President and am now helping advance the organization in a different capacity. My involvement in FFA and numerous other organizations played a critical role in furthering my passion for agriculture and developing the knowledge and skillsets I possess today.
Currently, I am a student at the University of Missouri – Columbia studying International Business. Additionally, I plan to pursue minors in International Agriculture and Communications. At the University, I am an active member of the Agricultural Education Society and Mizzou Colligate Farm Bureau.
Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time in my apiary. When I get a spare moment, I like to read, travel, and surround myself with my friends and family!
I cannot wait to see what this summer has in store for me as I use this experience to grow my passion for the agricultural industry and the people within it!
