Behind the Scenes

Farm broadcast experience pays off

In 2006, Matt Dolch, then a junior at Iowa State University, received a scholarship from the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Foundation.

In a “Behind the Scenes” post on this website, I wrote:

“Matt Dolch, who has worked for Brownfield affiliates KOAK and KCSI in Red Oak, Iowa, told me that his dream has been to work for Brownfield Network.  Jerry Dietz who heads up the Red Oak stations has been a valued partner for many years and is a big believer in the importance of agricultural programming, so I’m not surprised that Matt has a passion for ag communications.”

You can read the full article from 2006 here.

Fast forward to 2023, Matt is now NK Corn Product Manager. I caught up with him at the 2023 Commodity Classic where I interviewed him about NK corn. Then I asked him about his farm broadcasting experience.
