Brownfield Ag News hosts KWPC’s Spring Ag Roundtable

Brownfield’s Tom Steever moderated the twice-yearly Spring Ag Roundtable broadcast on KWPC Radio in Muscatine, Iowa, on March 10. The two-hour broadcast discussion among Steever and seven panelists of farmers and agribusiness representatives focused on farm production, marketing and political issues on the Muscatine Brownfield affiliate.

The broadcast, produced by KWPC General Manager Kevin Walker and KWPC Operations Manager Tim Scott, covered the upcoming planting season, input costs versus commodity prices, crop insurance, livestock production issues, trade, and even food insecurity challenges resulting from inner city food deserts.

In addition to Steever, panel members included: Jay Matthews with FS Growmark; Bryan Regennitter with Merschman Seeds; Brandon Koch, ruminant nutritionist with Kent Nutrition; Jerry Mohr, past president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association; Kerry Gruenhagen, president of the Muscatine County Farm Bureau; Rob Schmidt, chief operating officer with TruAcre Technology; and Heidi Vittetoe, co-owner of JWV Pork.
