Andrew grew up on a family farm in Hardin County Ohio where his family grew corn and soybeans and raised sheep and market lambs. He has an Associate’s Degree from Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville in Broadcast Production & Engineering and a BA in Communications from the University of Findlay where he majored in Public Relations.
Andrew began his career in radio and ag reporting in September 2001. While still in high school he was hired to cover livestock shows at the Hardin County Fair for WKTN Radio in Kenton Ohio. Andrew worked at WKTN from 2001 through 2015 serving as the host of two daily programs, board engineer, news editor, webmaster, Social Media Manager and Ag News Director for the station.
In 2015 Andrew was hired as the afternoon and evening news director for WFIN-AM Radio in Findlay. In that role, he also reported news for the country music station WKXA and rock station WBUK the Fox. In June 2016, Andrew joined Brownfield as the Ohio News Director.
Andrew has been recognized for his efforts by the University of Findlay, where he was named Outstanding Broadcaster in 2013.
Andrew enjoys reading and has built up an extensive library of books, mostly pertaining to history, biography and social issues. He enjoys sports and is an avid follower of the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as shooting sports, particularly trap and rifle sport shooting. He enjoys photography, traveling and visiting county fairs and festivals across Ohio. He resides in Hilliard near Columbus.
