BASF Revysol fungicides approved for 2020

A new class of fungicides from BASF has received EPA registration.

BASF technical market manager Paula Halabicki tells Brownfield Ag News that Revysol is in the DMI, group 3, class of fungicides with special properties, “So, Revysol, because of this unique isopropanol azole link within the molecule is much more flexible than many other DMI products. And what that means is that it actually has a broad spectrum of crops that it can be applied on.”

She says Revysol will be available in a variety of premix fungicides for many crops, “Apples and grapes and tree nuts. In the row crop market, corn and soybean, obviously, as well as other small grains, sugar beets, potatoes, peanuts, and so on.”

She says it will provide whole leaf protection for a longer period of time than other DMI fungicides and that will provide more flexibility in application timing…

“So in some of our specialty crops, or our low growing crops where they have very high disease pressures and people are applying multiple fungicide applications throughout the year – when you have a product with higher length of residual you have a little bit more flexibility in terms of, you know, if you miss a spray for a weather event, for example.”

Revysol products will be available for the 2020 growing season. It will be available in several customized products including Veltyma fungicide in soybeans, Provysol fungicide in potatoes, sugar beets and peanuts, Cevya fungicide in grapes, almonds, pome and stone fruits, and, the seed treatment Relenya.
