Chinese seed firm opens office in Des Moines

Origin Agritech, a China-based germplasm and biotechnology-focused crop seed provider, has opened an office in Des Moines, Iowa, its first location outside of China.

According to Origin CEO Bill Niebur, a former Pioneer executive, the move represents a key step in a series of strategic actions to position Origin as a leading global foundation biotech and seed development company.

Brownfield visited with Niebur about the company and the decision to locate in the U.S.
