Ohio cooperatives in talks to merge

Two large Ohio Cooperatives have announced they’ve entered negotiations for a possible merger. Heritage Cooperative Inc. and Agland Co-op say that both companies board of directors have signed a letter of intent to work towards an agreement on a merger.

Both cooperatives say a merger would help to diversify risks and also expand opportunities for their members.

Heritage Cooperative is a member owned cooperative serving over 7,500 customers at 30 locations in central and north central Ohio. Agland Co-op is based in New Philadelphia and serves over 1,900 customers at 23 locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Illinois.
