Corn, sorghum inspections up on week and year

The USDA reports corn and sorghum export inspections for the week ending June 9th were up on the week and year.

Wheat came out at 363,803 tons, down 27,404 from the week ending June 2nd and 23,584 lower than the week ending June 11th, 2015. Early in the 2016/17 marketing year, wheat inspections are 577,253 tons, compared to 538,251 towards the outset of 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 1,696,990 tons, up 629,404 from the previous week and 589,051 higher than this time last year. With less than a quarter left in the 2015/16 marketing year, corn inspections are 31,178,916 tons.

Soybeans were pegged at 136,506 tons, 38,128 more than the prior week, but 90,320 less than a year ago. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 43,654,953 tons, compared to 47,411,809 last year.

Sorghum inspections totaled 195,026 tons, That’s an increase of 128,996 tons on the week and 185,525 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 7,354,398 tons, compared to 7,425,859 in 2014/15.
