Nebraska’s corn planting 74 percent complete
Corn planting in Nebraska advanced 21 points last week and now stands at 74 percent complete. That compares to the five-year average of 81 percent. Thirty percent of the crop has emerged compared to the average of 35 percent.
Soybean planting, at 29 percent, is 14 points behind average. Soybean emergence was only three percent.
Planting progress was especially limited in eastern counties by the continued rains.
The winter wheat crop rated 67 percent good to excellent, 30 percent fair and only three percent poor.
Pasture and range conditions rated 80 percent good to excellent, 19 percent fair and only one percent poor.
