Measuring progress on the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy

One of the keys to success for the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy is being able to measure progress. To help accomplish that task, the Iowa Water Resources Coordinating Council (WRCC) has advanced a “logic model framework” that will quantify inputs, outputs and outcomes on an annual basis.

“We’re just at the beginning of trying to report and tally up all of these indicators,” says Roger Wolf, director of Environmental Programs and Services for the Iowa Soybean Association. “We know the public wants to know how we’re doing and this is a big part of helping articulate that message.”

Brownfield discussed the topic with Wolf at the recent ISA Research Conference in Des Moines.
