Work needed on big issues after election

Essentially the same players and the same issues are in place following the election as before, according to Bob Stallman, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation. “It’s time to come together since the election’s over with and try to solve some of those big problems,” said Stallman, in an interview with Brownfield Ag News. Much of the heavy lifting has already been done on the pending farm bill, said Stallman, who adds that the general farm organization will be pushing for its passage in the lame duck session of Congress, although Stallman acknowledges that a lot of congressional attention will be focused on the fiscal cliff.
