Thatcher: crop insurance subsidies invite attention

American Farm Bureau’s chief lobbyist warns that budget issues, only becoming worse in the  next year, will result in crop insurance subsidies getting critical scrutiny.  She cites current government assistance with premiums averaging 62 percent.  In 2013, Thatcher says budget watchers will view that as “low hanging fruit.”
