68th Annual NAFB Convention this week

The National Association of Farm Broadcasting has its annual convention in Kansas City November 9-11.  The annual meeting incorporates newsmakers, including U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who has been invited to conduct a news conference, and Captain Peter Shinn, a former Brownfield reporter, now with the Iowa National Guard Agri-Business Development Team, who returned earlier this year from a deployment in Afghanistan.

The annual convention attracts working farm broadcasters who gather, not only to improve themselves professionally, but also to network with farm leaders, advertisers and other farm broadcasters.

One of the annual features of the convention is the 6 ½ hour Trade Talk, during which farm broadcasters interview spokespeople exhibitors representing commodity organizations and agri-businesses.  The convention is attended by most of the 155 full time NAFB Broadcast Council member farm broadcasters in the nation from New York to California.  This is the 68th Annual NAFB convention.
