Defending federal support for ethanol

Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns is one of the sponsors of the Senate bill to extend the blenders’ tax credit and import tariff for ethanol. And while Johanns acknowledges opposition to that extension from some segments of the livestock and meat industry, he says—overall—ethanol’s positives outweigh the negatives.
