Vilsack on the farm bill

U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack spoke Monday at the Iowa Farm Bureau Economic Summit in Ames.   In his address, Vilsack discussed the farm bill situation in Congress and asked the audience to consider three points:  Splitting the farm and nutrition programs was a bad idea; allowing Congress to do another farm bill extension is a bad idea; and, the general public needs to understand that the farm bill is much more than just a “farm” bill.
