White dealers discuss the new 9812 model

White Planters recently unveiled its new 9000 Series planter at an event attended by dealers and the ag media in Davenport, Iowa.

Brownfield asked two AGCO-White dealers—Marty Romshek of Osceola Implement, Osceola, Nebraska and Trent Shrock of Plevna Implement, Kokomo, Indiana—to share their impressions of the new planter.

White Planters unveiled its new 9000 Series at an event this week in Davenport, Iowa.  Company officials call it “the most significant introduction in a dozen years for White Planters”.   

We visited with Tom Draper, product marketing manager for seeding and tillage with White.

John Deere launches new 9 Series balers

john deere-balerBuilding on the reliability and popularity of its 8 Series Round Balers, John Deere has introduced 12 new models of its 9 Series Round Balers for 2013.

According to Laura Cobb, senior marketing representative at John Deere Ottumwa Works, the new 9 Series Round Balers offer customers a larger selection of machines that will handle a wide variety of forage and silage baling needs.

The Case Steiger Rowtrac tractor is designed to reduce compaction, increase yields, and maximize a farmer’s profitability.  Dan Kline, Magnum marketing specialist says even though they launched Rowtrac last summer – it is still drawing a lot of attention from farmers. 

Kline said the Rowtrac was designed with farmer input and they are taking notice.

Kinze unveils new planter for 2014

The 2013 National Farm Machinery Show was the first opportunity for farmers to view the new Kinze 4900 Series planter.  Rhett Schildroth, product manager for Kinze says the Kinze 4900 series planters will be available for orders in May 2013 for use during the 2014 planting season.

The 4900 series planter can be used for corn, soybeans, sugar beets, sunflowers and milo when planted on 30” rows.

John Deere introduces new 6M series tractor

hessel-scott-john deere-tractorAt the Cattle Industry Convention in Tampa, we stopped by the John Deere display and talked to product marketing manager Scott Hessel about the latest addition to their 6 series family of row-crop tractors—the new 6M model.  Hessel says it’s perfect for those chores around the farm and ranch.

Case IH teams up with Ram Trucks

danford-dan-case ih picThe ag community is still buzzing about the Ram Truck-sponsored “So God made a farmer” ad that aired during the Super Bowl.  At the NCBA Trade Show in Tampa, Dan Danford of Case IH discusses how his company has teamed up with Ram Trucks in the overall campaign that declares 2013 “The Year of the Farmer.”  Danford also talks about the new Farmall C and U tractors that made their debut in Tampa.

AGCO 4th quarter earnings up

Global farm equipment maker AGCO reports a 7.4% increase in net sales in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared with the same quarter in 2011.

Net sales by AGCO for the 2012 year were 10-Billion dollars, up more than 13-and-a-half percent from 2011.

North American tractor sales were up 10% from 2011 and combine sales were up 5% in Western Europe.

AGCO brands are Massey Ferguson, Challenger, Fendt, GSI and Valtra.

HARDI introduces self propelled sprayers

frazier-brad-hardi-ag connect 1-13At the Ag Connect Expo in Kansas City, HARDI North America introduced two new models of self propelled sprayers, SARITOR and PRESIDIO.  It’s the company’s first venture into the self propelled market. 

We visited with national sales manager Brad Frazier about these new sprayer models and their move into the self propelled market.

CLAAS adds to hay and forage line

claas-ag connect 1-13CLAAS, long recognized as an industry leader in hay and forage equipment, has made some new additions to its product line.  They include the QUADRANT 3300 RC Large Square Baler and the ROLLANT 455 UNIWRAP Round Baler/Wrapper.  

At Ag Connect in Kansas City, CLAAS product coordinator Matt Jaynes visited with us about these new products.  We also discussed the growing demand for equipment that is coming from the biomass market.
