Still many unknowns about the Affordable Health Care Act
There are a lot of options in the health insurance industry and now with the Affordable Health Care Act coming, there are even more things to learn. Tim Mahaffey is Executive Director of Farmers Health Cooperative, he says there are still a lot of unknowns but the regulations are being published almost weekly so they are “getting a little more clarity.” Farmers Health Cooperative will not participate in the exchanges because they are not an insurance company however, because the new law sets minimum coverage standards for all; it levels the playing field for Farmers Health Cooperative which often found itself at a price disadvantage because of the coverage they offered.
