Meet the 2016-2017 National FFA Officers

The newly elected president of the National FFA Convention says he has plans to carry the theme of this year’s convention through his year of service.

 

Participating in FFA was transformational for David Townsend, the 2016-2017 National FFA President.

As he prepares to spend his next year engaging with FFA members he’s looking forward to hearing those individuals’ stories all over the country.  “Everyone has had unique and different experiences leading them to that point they are at now,” he says.  “It is our responsibility to learn from every single person that we meet to obtain a more objective view of the world.  Every single person has a unique perspective on life – something that they know that is unique to them and different.”

This was Valerie Earley of Minnesota’s second year running for national office.  She tells Brownfield she wants to make sure members know they play a significant role in the success of the organization.  “Go out and make an impact,” she says.  “Whether that means meeting with sponsors and sharing that story of success that members are having or just connecting with members and inspiring them to go out and do great things.”

Victoria Harris of Florida will serve as secretary, Ashley Willits of New York represents the Eastern Region, Trey Elizondo of Texas represents the Western Region; and DeShawn Blanding of South Carolina represents the Southern Region.
