Delegate session provides FFA members unique opportunity

Delegates of the National FFA Organization will vote this week to accept proposed modifications to the organization’s official dress.

CEO Mark Poeschl says the changes are to help promote inclusiveness.  “We’re looking at ways – for instance – that young ladies would be able to wear slacks instead of just skirts as a part of the official dress,” he says.  “We want to make sure that every member feels comfortable here regardless of their gender, regardless of their ethnicity, and regardless of their religious affiliation.”

He tells Brownfield the delegate session helps ensure the National FFA Organization remains a grassroots organization and also provides a great learning experience for its members.  “It’s a great opportunity for them to understand the process of reaching consensus, the process of reaching decisions, and effectively communicating their views on issues,” he says.

The vote will come during the delegate business session.
