Corn waits to see what develops on RFS

Reports about the Trump administration changing the point of obligation in the Renewable Fuels Standard have the attention of corn growers at Commodity Classic. But, Gary Marshall, CEO of the Missouri Corn Growers Association, says they are taking a wait-and-see approach, “Right now, everything is rumors. So, until there’s actually something out there for us to take a look at, it’s pure speculation. So we’ve tried to stay out of that as much as possible.”

Marshall tells Brownfield they are very supportive of the Renewable Fuels Standard and they don’t want to see it opened up, “We’re very pleased with the Renewable Fuels Standard. We think it’s absolutely the most important piece of legislation out there protecting the ethanol industry and, of course, our market for U.S. corn.”

Marshall says the devil’s always in the details and he’ll wait to see what’s on paper about the RFS.
