USDA news conference on GIPSA rule

The USDA held a telephone conference call today with ag reporters to discuss the release of the Farmer Fair Practices Rules, better known as the GIPSA livestock rule.  Participating in the call were Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack; Susan Keith, deputy administrator, Packers and Stockyards Program, Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration; Roger Johnson, president of the National Farmers Union; and Mike Weaver, president of the Contract Poultry Growers Association of the Virginias.
