Ohio Farm Bureau funds water quality projects

The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is providing $200,000 to local farm bureaus to fund projects that designed to help improve water quality.

It launched a Water Quality Action Plan in the fall of 2014 to help protect the environment while preserving farmers’ ability to produce food. Since then, the Ohio Farm Bureau and partners have provided more than $2 million for various projects.

Most of the funds are directed toward educational and research activities for local farm bureaus to work with organizations on water quality workshops. Other projects include providing technology and training to farmers for proper field and water quality maintenance.

Twenty-one of Ohio’s 88 counties will receive funding through the program. More information can be found on the Ohio Farm Bureau’s website.
