National Farmers Union focus on farm safety in video series

The National Farmers Union has released a series of videos highlighting dangers on farms and ways to avoid them. The videos are designed to educate farm and ranch families, agriculture workers, those visiting farms and members of the public about the hazards that can exist on farms and proper safety methods that to avoid getting hurt.

Potential hazards in the videos range from livestock handling, grain hauling and storage, chemical use and machinery use, which the Farmers Union says accounts for one-fourth of all farm-related work deaths each year.

NFU President Roger Johnson says that a large number of farm accidents involve children under the age of 20.
