AFBF president discusses ag mergers, TPP, other issues

ken-w-zippy-duvall-9-16The president of the American Farm Bureau Federation, Zippy Duvall, says while he’s concerned with proposed agribusiness consolidations, he also understands the business case for mergers.

But Duvall says he does have concerns about decreased competition. He says farmers and ranchers cannot afford to lose access to technology and innovation through consolidation.

Ag mergers was one of the issues Duvall discussed in a recent interview with Brownfield. Other topics included the ag economy, the government safety net, TPP, WOTUS and the need for more unity in agriculture.
