Vistive Gold soybeans available for the first time

For the first time, Asgrow Vistive Gold soybeans will be available for growers in Indiana and Ohio.  Sarah Vacek, product manager for Asgrow Vistive Gold says they are under certain stewardship requirements because approval is still pending in key markets like China and the European Union.  “But in the meantime, we want to be able to have on-farm experience with growers using Vistive Gold as we start to build up that oil supply for end use customers as well,” she says.

Vacek tells Brownfield the Asgrow Vistive Gold beans have been in the pipeline for years.  “Our breeders have brought them to the point that we’re proud to have them in our Asgrow lineup,” she says.  “In the past we’ve had some pilot lines grown in Ohio.  The growers that have been planting those pilot lines have been really pleased with the yield performance they have seen.  They’ve always yielded right in line with other competitive commodity varieties on farm.”

She says the high oleic beans give soybean farmers a chance to regain market share that has been lost in recent years due to the Trans Fat bans.
