Vilsack to lead U.S. Dairy Export Council

Former Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack will become President and CEO of the U.S. Dairy Export Council February 1st.  That announcement was made Tuesday confirming rumors Vilsack would succeed Tom Suber , who retired after 22 years.

Vilsack says he is looking forward to the move.  “I’m excited about this opportunity because I’m working for people I like and I’m working with people I like, number one.  Number two, you know it’s a great product.  It’s very easy to sell and to advocate on behalf of the dairy producers and the processors and the companies of this country.”

Vilsack’s new job will include working with dairy industry leaders to develop long-term sales and consumer trust.  He will also oversee the council’s global promotional and research activities.
