USTR seeks WTO action against China
The National Chicken Council and the U.S. Poultry & Egg Export Council applaud the U.S. Trade Representative’s office for requesting the World Trade Organization take action against China.
China has not eliminated its anti-dumping and countervailing duties on U.S. chicken exports, even though a WTO panel found in 2013 that those duties violated China’s WTO obligations.
The poultry groups say China is an important market for the U.S. and is one of the main export destinations for chicken paws and wingtips which they say add “considerable value to the U.S. broiler industry.”
