USDA Rural Development offers home loans

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development still has funding available to assist rural residents with home repairs.

“We have a real opportunity for the rest of this fiscal year to reach out to rural residents that may need home repair loans.  As winter approaches, we can do up to a $20,000 loan at one percent fixed interest rate.”

Michigan Acting State Director Jason Church tells Brownfield home repair loans also invest in rural communities while helping keep homes in good repair.  “Home ownership in and of itself helps families and individuals build savings over time.  It strengthens communities and helps many kinds of businesses too that support the local economy that may be installing those new windows or that new furnace.”

Church says low interest loans are also available to help assist rural residents purchase a home.
