U.S. corn harvest wraps up

Programs ICON

The 2016 U.S. corn harvest ended last week.

Conditions for corn and soybeans varied widely during planting, development, and harvest, but if the USDA’s estimates hold, production and average yield for both will be new all-time highs.

92% of the winter wheat crop has emerged, matching the five year average, and 58% of the crop is in good to excellent condition, unchanged on the week.

The USDA’s next set of supply and production estimates is out December 9th and final 2016 corn and soybean production totals are due in January.
