U.S. 4-wheel drive tractor sales up more than 25%

U.S. tractor sales continue to improve, especially four-wheel drive tractors.

In its May “flash report,” the Association of Equipment Manufacturers says more than 92,000 tractors were sold in the first five months of 2017–seven percent more than the same period a year ago.

For the month, sales of four-wheel drive tractors were up 26 percent.

Smaller tractors also did well in May, as those with less than 100 horsepower outpaced sales figures from 2016.

Combine sales were down nearly 10 percent on the month, and 13 percent for the year.
