Tractor sales continue summer slide

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers says all tractor and combine sales declined in July.

Sales of all tractors dropped 14 percent compared to the same month last year, but for the first seven months of the year, sales are up almost one percent compared to 2015.

Combine sales during July dropped 16 percent compared to last year.  Total combine sales in 2016 are down 22 percent.

Charlie O’Brien with the organization says the good news is that overall retail sales for small horsepower tractors are still above the 5-year trends, but 2016 has been a challenging year.
