Tenth year for Iowa Corn’s race sponsorship

iowa corn 300 logo 2016When the Verizon IndyCar Series comes to the Iowa Speedway on July 10th, it will mark the tenth year that Iowa Corn has sponsored the event.

The IndyCars run on E85, the blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent regular gasoline. Iowa Corn Board president Mark Heckman of West Liberty says their sponsorship of the race has been a great platform for promoting ethanol and Iowa corn.

“To really showcase our crop, to showcase a fuel that’s made from our crop, and to showcase this great state,” Heckman says. “It gives us exposure from coast to coast and even in other countries where we normally wouldn’t get that exposure.”

Iowa Corn held an Iowa Corn 300 media day Wednesday in Knoxville to help promote the upcoming race.
