Shareholders to vote next month on Dow/DuPont merger

Shareholders for DuPont and Dow will vote next month on the two companies’ proposed 130 billion-dollar merger.

Both meetings will take place on July 20, 2016.  DuPont’s meeting will be held at its headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware and Dow’s meeting at its Midland, Michigan offices.

Both companies still expect the deal to be finalized in the second half of this year.

Following the merger the two companies plan to spin-off three separate publicly traded companies, including an 18 billion-dollar agricultural company, a material science company, and a specialty products company.  The split is expected to happen within the next two years.
