Retiring Minnesota FFA president calls last year a whirlwind

The outgoing president of the Minnesota FFA calls the last year a whirlwind.

“It seems like I was just here yesterday a year ago, serving from a region office being promoted to a state officer.  From camps to national convention to chapter visits and now we’re here, it’s been a phenomenal experience.”

Spencer Wolter of the Windom FFA chapter lists teaching at FFA camps and being a delegate at the national convention among the highlights of his 12 months as state president.
He tells Brownfield being in FFA has taught him to strive for progress, not perfection.

“Throughout this year, I’ve grown so much to become a better leader (and) team player.  And just learning along the way (that) you need to work for progress.  Not everything will be perfect, but it gets you to grow as an officer.”

Speaking to Brownfield at the conclusion of the 88th Minnesota FFA Convention in St. Paul, Wolter says he’s pursuing a large animal veterinary medicine degree at the University of Minnesota.
The 2017/2018 Minnesota FFA president is Katie Benson of the Staples Motley FFA Chapter.
