Reports: Perdue emerges as top choice for USDA

Various media outlets are reporting that former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue has emerged as President-elect Donald Trump’s top choice for agriculture secretary.

The 70-year-old grew up on a farm and is a veterinarian by training. Perdue spent much of his career working in agribusiness in rural Georgia. He also served 11 years in the Georgia state senate and two terms as governor, from 2003 to 2011.

Perdue is not related to the family of the same name that owns chicken producer Perdue Farms.

  • My first impression is that It is a plus that he is a Veterinarian. I am interested in finding out when these Horrific Puppy Mills are going to be closed and the People running them will be prosecuted…. This is a drain on all of the Humane Societies/ /Rescues/Veterinarians/Pet Hospitals, etc. that are scattered throughout this United States, This is a Horrific act that has to be stopped… Where is the law when it comes to treating Animals Humanely…these Puppy Mills are being run throughout the
the United States,, and it is no longer an illegal act that can be ignored by the Department of the USDA…does he have any thoughts of maybe addressing this issue… these people do not pay taxes, that in it’s self should get the attention of TRUMP… will he report this to out new President?
