Rain and snow hinder field work in the Buckeye State

Rain and snow prevented fieldwork throughout Ohio throughout much of last week. The USDA reports the wet week kept producers out of fields but the week ended on a warmer note.

Eighty-two percent of Ohio winter wheat is rated in good to excellent condition despite ponding in some fields and delays in top dressing.

Ten percent of Ohio oats have been planted and 5 percent have emerged.

Sunny skies and warm conditions helped to dry some fields over the weekend.
