Purdue seminar to focus on crop management

The Southwest Indiana Crop Seminar scheduled for March 6 at the Dubois County Fairgrounds will feature a number of topics that will provide crop farmers with management strategies for 2013.

“We want to give local crop producers an opportunity to meet with industry professionals and academic specialists to discuss topics that might affect this year’s crop,” said Kenneth Eck, Dubois County Extension educator.

Among the seminar topics, Purdue ag economist Chris Hurt will provide the 2013 ag outlook, they’ll discuss herbicide resistance and climate trends, tile drainage and cover crops will be on the program, as well as a fertilizer and regulatory update.

The March 6th seminar program will be held from 12:25 to 4:45. Registration begins at noon.
