Pork producers aid hurricane victims
The Pork Checkoff assisted victims of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey last week by bringing a mobile kitchen to several locations, serving pork products to those in need. Producers cooked and served up pork loins, brat patties and Italian sausage.
Several states donated money and/or volunteers including -Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, New York, California, and Pennsylvania. Industry partners Smithfield Foods, Johnsonville and Hatfield Brands donated the pork products.
